Welcome to the SONNE Mini Club!

A day without the SONNE Mini Club is a lost day. We welcome children from age two (the minimum age for excursions is four) to various activities and great experiences. There’s a full-day entertainment programme in the SONNE Mini Club seven days a week, some days even in the evening. With cooking, crafts, painting and playing together, as well as a few adventure trips to nearby attractions, there’s no chance for boredom. Magician Rosa visits DIE SONNE every Wednesday evening and won’t just make the kids smile. Her fun table magic creates great astonishment.

Everyone meets in the playroom in bad weather. In addition to Mini Club we offer the following:

  • Playing and crafts
  • Face painting
  • Climbing on the climbing wall
  • Kids TV with chill lounge and headphones in the SONNENOASE

Summer holiday with children in Saalbach

There’s a magical adventure scenery with plenty of activities for children in Saalbach around our hotel. The Glemmtal is known for numerous attractive options for kids, some of which are part of the SONNE Mini Club excursion programme. We recommend the following highlights:

Montelino's Adventure Trail on the Kohlmais
Children will experience a fantastic adventure on the mountain. The main objective is to find the toys of the clown, Montelino, so he can laugh once again.
Mount Kodok
The clown from Saalbach Hinterglemm has lost his cap. This was most certainly the work of the naughty Kobold Kodok. However, Kobald Kodok left behind a trail leading to the hiding place. By solving the puzzles you will be able to find the cap. The Mount Kodok trail is a real adventure for the whole family.
Education trail in the valley end
Kids and adults with a thirst for knowledge, will learn a lot on this hiking trail. Even the journey with the Noddy Train is an adventure. There are numerous sign-posts along the trail offering helpful tips for hiking in the Alps and information about the rich flora and fauna which can be found in the area.
Tree-top trail in the valley end
A 1-km-long circular trail high in the tree-tops along with the 200-m-long Golden Gate Bridge the Alps spans across the valley in the valley end. The views are simply stunning. the Tree-top path and Golden Gate Bridge are attractions that are open in both summer and winter. Attractive discounts are on offer.
Schnitza's Holzpark in the valley end
Carpenter Herbert Aschaber is widely known as "Schnitza" in Saalbach Hinterglemm. At his wood park you can see the numerous playing areas which have been created from wood for yourself. Milking the wooden cow, solving the wooden puzzle or trying out your balancing skills on beams and piles: Plenty of fun and games are guaranteed in the great outdoors.
Teufelswasser
The valley end is ideal for you even on the hottest days: Here you find a theme park centred around the element of water, where you can paddle in the cool water, a rock pool, fish pond, cave trail and many other highlights for the family to enjoy. On this adventure playground, no-one will stay dry.

Skiing and snowboarding
Even the little ones get playfully introduced to the diverse selection of slopes. Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is one of Austria’s largest ski regions with 270 slope kilometres, 140 of which are easy (blue) slopes and perfectly suited for beginners!

Ski lessons and ski rental
Many children’s ski schools offer lessons for younger guests. Training in groups, they are playfully introduced to the snow, learn their first glides and will soon conquer easy slopes with all the others. The right winter sport equipment can be rented at affordable rates.
Tobogganing
Conquer the next sledding hill with a toboggan or a sledge! Several smaller hills around DIE SONNE provide tons of fun. The two toboggan runs on the Reiterkogel and the Spielberghaus offer gripping family action, even in the dark.
Ice skating
One of the country’s most beautiful ice skating facilities is only four kilometres from our child-friendly hotel in Saalbach. Skate together in the Sportzentrum Hinterglemm, skates can be rented on site. Parents can also give the traditional sport of Curling a shot.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides
Shining, astonished children’s eyes glide through the winter wonderland that is Saalbach Hinterglemm. Covered in warm blankets, a horse-drawn sleigh ride takes you through the enchanting nature. The valley end amazes with its unique views and almost endless paths.

Tree top path
Staying in the valley end, the open year-round tree top path invites school-age children to balance high above the clouds with an exciting view of the deeply snow-covered scenery. A trip to the breathtaking Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps is included.
